How to Send an E-mail with Full Headers
By default, e-mail clients may not display all part of a message. Special steps need to be taken in order to send a complete copy of the original message with full headers. Below are details on how to do this with various e-mail clients.
Entourage 2004
- Open the “Spam” email in a new window.
- Select View and Internet Headers.
- Headers appear in the message window.
- Highlight and copy the headers.
- Select File and New.
- Select Mail Message.
- A pop window appears.
- Paste the headers into the body of the message.
- Send the message copy to the appropriate address.
Different steps must be taken for messages that contain html and messages that do not contain html. To determine if your message contains html, open the message. Click “Blah Blah Blah” button to reveal the complete message headers. If the line “content-Type: text/html” exists, this message contains html. Otherwise, follow the steps for messages without html.
